“The perennial wonder of Venice is to peer at herself in her canals and find that she exists – incredible as it seems. It is the same reassurance that a looking glass offers us: the guarantee that we are real” - Mary McCarthy.
Exploring Venice during the renowned Venice Art Biennale, which takes place from 20th April to 24th November 2024, offers a unique adventure to delve into Italy’s artistic soul. But why should you go to Venice during this period? The theme of this year’s event tells the whole story: “Foreigners Everywhere”, curated by Adriano Pedrosa — the artistic director of the 60th edition of the Venice Art Biennale 2024 — sheds light on its significance and meaning:

Venice Art Biennale 2024
“First of all, wherever you go and wherever you are, you will always encounter foreigners — they/we are everywhere. Secondly, no matter where you find yourself, you are always, truly, and deep down inside, a foreigner.”
Pedrosa also reflects on the lively flow of people across borders and nations, highlighting how it affects language, translation, and ethnicity. He points out how our identities, nationality, race, gender, sexuality, wealth, and freedom shape these movements. It’s a reminder of the diverse tapestry of humanity, urging us to embrace differences while seeking understanding and empathy across communities.
This theme resonates deeply with the essence of Venice. The Venetian buildings may seem simple, but their unity is beautiful. Each building is carefully constructed with its surroundings in mind, striving to blend in harmoniously. This city’s structures support one another, creating a cohesive and stunning landscape. They lean on each other, quite literally, on the marshy terrain, working together to form something truly remarkable. In the same spirit, artists participating in the Venice Art Festival, who often hail from diverse backgrounds — foreigners, immigrants and diasporic individuals — bring forth their native cultures’ emotions, characteristics, and experiences, merging to express themselves.
This mindset makes choosing where to stay, especially in areas like Giardini di Venezia and Arsenale, fascinating. Aligning the event’s atmosphere with the rest of your journey is crucial for a thorough experience. Let us guide you to our finest luxury villa selection to ensure that you can be fully involved in the local scene.

How does the Palazzo Heureka accommodate guests visiting Venice specifically for the Biennale? Are there any experiences tailored to art enthusiasts?
Since its opening in 2017, we have sought to capture and represent the link between art and hospitality. Under the motto “Art as a bridge towards people”, and with our mosaic styles and architectures, we are indeed an ideal place for art enthusiasts and Biennale visitors. We have created an exclusive package during The Venice Biennale period from April to the end of November for the exclusive rental of the Palazzo. Guests can rent our luxury villa with its 10 exclusive rooms and suites for a private and glamorous stay and organise the perfect tailor-made event: an Exclusive Gala Dinner and a Glamorous Garden Cocktail. During The Biennale, we will host several private events, and during the entire season, guests will enjoy special private dinners in our beautiful garden. They will be delighted with our gourmet menus masterfully created by Chef Justus Hoffstaedter.
Are there any particular artworks within the palace that reflect the spirit of the Venice Art Biennale? Can you share insights into the villa’s relationship with the local art scene in Venice?
Since the opening, we have collaborated with artist Julian Kohl, who has created pictorial and sculptural works that fit perfectly with the palace’s design and architecture. This year, on the occasion of the Venice Art Biennale, we will collaborate with Studio Berengo, a famous Murano Glass gallery known for its collaborations with international artists and beautiful works.
