Villa Mas Mateu & Guest Houses

With a main villa and three guest houses sleeping from 39-53 guests, it’s the ideal property for larger groups and special events.

A truly unique property, it is home to first class equestrian facilities, headed by a member of Spain’s highly-regarded dressage training team. The centre can stable up to 10 horses and boasts a 70x30 metre all-weather covered track, a 70x30 metre outdoor track, a warm-up arena, six paddocks, stands for up to 100 spectators, several acres of fields, and living quarters for trainers.

The extensive outdoor facilities also include a heated swimming pool with pool house, a well-equipped gym, a football field, basketball court, and paddle court, an outdoor barbecue and al fresco dining area, and a summer kitchen housed in an ancient barn.

A graceful, arched doorway leads into a series of inviting lounges, with magnificent views over the Emporda and the Pyrenees. Cool alabaster walls frame the grand salon’s majestic fireplace.

The villa sleeps up to 39 guests across the main house, two guest houses and an apartment, though it can accommodate up to 53 guests when additional singles and sofa beds are added.

Within the main villa are seven king-size bedrooms with en-suite facilities, along with two double bedrooms and a quad bedroom, sharing two bathrooms between them. There is also a study that can be converted to an additional twin room where needed. Many of the rooms also boast private terraces or balconies with stunning views.

The first guest house comprises a king-size bedroom and two twins, all with en-suite facilities, and features a spacious living room, a fully-equipped kitchen and a large, furnished terrace overlooking the gardens.

For larger groups or those travelling with private staff, additional guests can be accommodated in the second guest house and the guest apartment. Gust house two has two twin rooms with a shared shower room, whilst the apartment features two twin rooms and one single with a shared shower room.

Smaller groups of up to 24 guests can book Villa Mas Mateu without the guest houses.

NB: Please note that although Guest House Two and the Guest Apartment are comfortable, they are not of the same standard as the other buildings.
