Villa Cetinale is a 17th-century villa in the Ancaiano district near Siena, Italy. Designed by the architect Carlo Fontana in the Roman baroque style, the villa was built in 1680 by Cardinal Flavio Chigi for Pope Alexander VII – Fabio Chigi. The property is located five kilometres from the town of Sovicille.
The villa’s extensive gardens are renowned for their beauty – reputed to be amongst the most beautiful in Italy. Guests can take a dip in the large swimming pool, relax in the outdoor living areas, or enjoy an al fresco feast at the outdoor dining tables.
Indoors, guests are welcomed via an impressive entrance hall with high ceilings and traditional artworks decorating the walls. There are various lounge areas with fireplaces for relaxing, a loggia with marble dining tables, along with a separate dining room with spectacular high ceilings and wall frescoes.
