A magnificent 16th-century luxury villa on the shores of Lake Como, ideal for weddings and special events
Villa Pliniana is a unique luxury estate villa in a secluded location on the shores of Lake Como. This historical Italian palazzo from the 16th century, offers exquisite views of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
The estate boasts 18 acres of landscaped gardens and two natural waterfalls for guests to enjoy. There is a boat dock for those looking to explore the waterways, and a private helipad allowing guests to arrive in style.
Intent on retaining its charm and integrity, the property underwent a careful full restoration and has since been updated to the highest standards whilst maintaining the historical details of the original design.
During the restoration, a wellness centre was added in a dedicated spa building on a terrace above the gardens. The highlight of this Lake Como villa is the private infinity pool, which is surrounded glass walls and ceilings, and is supplied with filtered water from the lake itself. The spa also boasts a Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and solarium, as well as emotional showers and relaxation areas.
Indoors, the villa manages to effortlessly blend the luxurious service of a five-star resort with the intimacy of a home-away-from-home feel. Moreover, it merges the traditional with the contemporary, featuring exquisite frescoes and 16th century art and architecture, mixed with 21st century amenities.
Of particular note are the elaborate Venetian terrazzo-style floor designs and the painted wooden ceilings in the two main ballrooms. Another highlight is the piano where Gioachino Rossini wrote the Opera Tancredi in 1813, which still rests in the spot Rossini once sat but is now lovingly restored.
17 luxurious bedrooms are spread across the grounds; there are four large apartments in the main villa plus two separate guest houses accommodating up to a maximum of 36 guests.
Villa Pliniana is the epitome of Italian style, architecture and luxury. Thanks to its extensive grounds and grand ballrooms, this luxury holiday villa is perfect for Lake Como weddings and other special events. Due to its privileged location, it is the only property on the lake without noise restrictions, so guests can carry on the festivities until the early hours!
