A luxurious Italian ski lodge in the heart of the Dolomites
San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge (also known as White Deer) is located in the South Tyrol region of the Dolomites. This stunning converted hunting lodge is set within 42 acres of woodland and meadows with dramatic valley views, equally beautiful and serene in both winter and summer. It sleeps up to six adults and four children in comfort and style.
The lodge has an outdoor whirlpool with panoramic mountain views, perfect for late-night dips. There is also a spa cabin built with ancient wood and quartzite, featuring a Jacuzzi, massage area, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath with chromotherapy, and an emotional shower.
Within the lodge, each and every detail reflects the owners’ (Stefano and Giorgia) style and design skills. Valuable antiques have been lovingly-preserved or faithfully-restored, modern objects expertly fitted in, with a perfect feel for balance and harmony. The elegance of exclusive textiles and the sheer beauty of the furniture combine with the austerity of natural materials to create an atmosphere of serenity.
The breakfast and dining room have kept the original structure of the old kitchen, which has been preserved and skilfully-adapted to accommodate the most state-of-the-art kitchen equipment, catering to the wishes of even the most discerning chef.
Gourmet meals are prepared by Giorgia and served in the original ‘stübe’, whilst wines for dinner are selected from the wine cellar by Stefano, who will show his passion for regional tipples.
The ground floor also contains a multi-functional study and games room, equipped with modern communication technology.
The living area is composed of an open-plan lounge with a masonry fireplace along with a tea parlour, a traditional stübe and a TV room. The so-called tea parlour has been converted into an attractive conversation and reading room, equipped with lounge suites and chairs by Baxter and Flamant, drawing its charm from the contrast between the ancient rustic structure and the modern luxury of its furnishings.
The lodge has four well-appointed bedrooms, three of which are double, and all with lovely views over the mountains or meadows. Two of the doubles have en-suite bathrooms, whilst the third double shares its bathroom with the double bunk room, ideal for families with children.
In winter, the extensive Dolomiti Superski Area is an accessible 15-minute drive away; alternatively, it’s just four minutes by helicopter directly from the lodge to the top of the slopes.
In the warmer months, guests can enjoy the lodge’s own private golf course, or partake in a number of alpine activities.
For true alpine luxury year-round, San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge is the ultimate choice.
