Villa Castiglione
5 Bedrooms — 9 Guests
A truly one-of-a-kind property, set on a clifftop offering 360° views
Set atop a dramatic cliff 250 metres above the bay of Marina Piccola, Villa Castiglione boasts a truly enviable location on the beautiful island of Capri. From its high vantage point, guests can enjoy stunning 360° views across the whole island and over the sea to the Sorrento coastline and the Gulf of Naples.
Rich in history, this clifftop location was previously used as the site of an ancient Greek temple around 2000 years ago, a villa for Emperor Tiberius in Roman times, and a fortified castle for a noble family in the 10th century. Though carefully transformed into a luxury villa, the property still retains some of its medieval features, including the fortified walls and corner-square towers with battlements.
The villa lies on an estate stretching over 30,000 square metres. A swimming pool is located on the lower level, offering unbeatable views of the famous Faraglioni and plenty of space for soaking up the sun on poolside loungers.
Two separate terraces offer plenty of space for outdoor living and entertaining. The main terrace overlooks the Gulf of Naples and offers plenty of outdoor furniture for relaxation and dining. It is large enough to host events and celebrations, from corporate parties to gala dinners to stylish weddings.
On the other side, the Belvedere Terrace has beautiful views of the Faraglioni and the bay below, which can be admired from the sumptuous outdoor lounge setting.
Moreover, guests can enjoy stargazing from the rooftop battlements for an awe-inspiring and memorable experience.
Indoors, the villa’s focal point is the vast living area, measuring over 300 square metres. High, arched ceilings and large picture windows provide light and space; guests can relax and socialise whilst taking in beautiful views over the Marina Piccola below. With contemporary and stylish design, the room features comfortable sofas, a TV area, a bar, a table football set, and a stunning marble dining table. There is also an adjoining kitchenette for guest convenience.
Furthermore, a full kitchen and discreet staff quarters are located on the mezzanine level.
Four beautiful double bedrooms accommodate up to eight guests, plus there is an additional single bedroom ideal for those travelling with a nanny or private staff member. All bedrooms feature high, vaulted ceilings, en-suite facilities, and sea views. The master bedroom also boasts a private living room, which leads directly out to the Belvedere terrace, and the second bedroom also offers direct terrace access.
With a rich cultural history, modern interiors, and spacious terraces with panoramic views, Villa Castiglione is the ideal choice for a holiday with loved ones, an exclusive corporate event, or a stunning wedding.
NB: Due to the villa’s clifftop location, children are permitted only with prior approval. Villa staff live in on-site staff quarters on the lower-ground floor.

About the area
Villa Castiglione is located on one of Capri’s highest peaks, above the bay of Marina Piccola on the island’s southern coastline. It offers panoramic views and is within walking distance of the famous Piazzetta in the town centre with its quaint alleyways and cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Marina Grande – the port for visitors coming from the mainland – is lined with brightly-coloured houses and is home to the island’s largest beach. The easiest way to get between Marina Grande and the Piazzetta is via the funicular as much of the island is closed to traffic.
On the other side of the island, Marina Piccola is the perfect place for sunbathing almost year-round, as the little harbour is protected from the wind by the large cliffs behind it.
Visible from the villa, the Faraglioni are three large sea stacks directly in front of Punta Tragara. Though they can be seen from land, they are best viewed from a boat.
Another must-visit site is the Blue Grotto (Grotto Azzurra) – a large natural sea cave only accessible via boat.
