Location
Villa Ftelari lies in a secluded location away from the main road, halfway between Santorini’s capital Fira and the pretty village of Oia.
Shaped by a 16th Century volcanic eruption, the island’s landscape is characterised by sheer cliffs looming high over an underwater caldera, and beaches with black, red and white lava pebbles and colourful sand. The iconic white-washed buildings add a stunning contrast to the colourful natural landscape.
Capital Fira is where guests will find a bustling town centre and lively nightlife, whilst Oia is known for its romance and arguably the best sunset views on the island. Visitors can hike between the two locations in about three hours by following the Caldera Path, which is surrounded by spectacular scenery.
Boat tours are a great way to explore the caldera, hot springs and surrounding islands, and visitors can explore the depths of the turquoise waters on snorkelling or diving trips.
Wine aficionados can sample some of the best tipples in Greece at around a dozen local vineyards, and foodies will enjoy the various cooking demonstrations and classes available.
