A tropical ocean-view paradise surrounded by rainforest, set just minutes from the beach
Set within the 75-acre Achiote Private Reserve, Villa Mayana is a tropical paradise. Surrounded by lush rainforest and boasting stunning ocean views, the luxury property offers privacy and tranquillity, yet it is a short drive to the nearest beach and a short drive into the nearby towns of Dominical and Uvita.
The palatial entrance to the property features white sandstone columns and covered walkways floating over an eye-catching 2000-square-foot reflecting pool, made from black volcanic stone.
Heading around the back of the property, guests are drawn in not only by the spectacular views but also the luxurious 3000-square-foot infinity swimming pool, lined with hand-cut Javanese stone tiles. Beneath the pool area is a natural fire pit, where guests can relax under the stars.
Vast terraces stretch across both levels of the villa, offering various outdoor living and dining spaces, including a spectacular outdoor dining table made from the trunk of a local Guanacaste tree. Poolside, there is an expansive lounge area, as well as an outdoor kitchen with barbecue, a dining area, and a table tennis set.
Within the grounds, guests can wander through the orchards, or take the hiking trail to a nearby waterfall.
Designed by world-renowned architect Enrique Barascout, the interior of the luxury villa uses natural and sustainable materials in its construction and furnishings, including solar panels for natural energy and sustainably-sourced bamboo for furniture. From marble floors and 30-foot high thatched ceilings, to a mix of locally-made and Balinese furnishings, the interiors harmoniously reflect villa’s lush, tropical surroundings.
From any room in the spacious villa, guests can take in 270-degree views of the Pacific Ocean and lush rainforest. For relaxed evenings in, plush sofas surround a large, flat screen TV with a home entertainment system. The open-plan living area also includes a fully-equipped kitchen with an island and breakfast bar, which leads out to the main terrace.
Sleeping up to 12 adults and four children in total, the six bedrooms are divided into an east and west wing. Each wing features two master suites connected by a smaller bedroom, which can also be used as a sitting room. All suites have spacious en-suite bathrooms with double sinks and indoor and outdoor showers, as well as wrap-around balconies.
With its private setting, excellent facilities and breath-taking views, Villa Mayana is the ideal choice for a luxury getaway or special celebration with loved ones.
