Podere Capanelle is a beautifully-restored historic property dating back to the 16th century. The private estate spans six acres and boasts stunning 360-degree views of the Tuscan countryside and surrounding villages.
Paved pathways lead guests through manicured lawns and beautifully-landscaped gardens to the pool area, the perfect space for relaxation. Sun loungers line the infinity swimming pool, plus at one end is a shaded outdoor dining area where guests can enjoy poolside drinks whilst soaking up the impressive views. Moreover, there is a self-contained pool house for guests’ convenience.
Ideal for families, there is a children’s play area behind the pool with a trampoline, a swing set, and a slide.
The villa comprises two separate buildings surrounded by vast terraces with outdoor living and dining settings, perfect for entertaining and enjoying time with loved ones.
When rebuilding, the owners kept the villa’s original perimeter, shapes, style and character – mandatory in this UNESCO World Heritage-protected valley – but used contemporary construction and finishing standards to create a luxury villa suited to modern-day guests.
The indoor living areas are spread across more than 6,000 square feet, beautifully decorated in classical local style. High, beamed ceilings create a feeling of space, whilst the use of Tuscan marble, hand-baked terracotta, and stunning Italian period furniture throughout creates a luxurious yet homely feel.
Guests can relax in three separate living rooms, all decorated with plush sofas and crackling fireplaces for cosying around on cooler evenings. The first floor living room features a home cinema with a large flat-screen TV and traditional cinema seating, perfect for a family film night. Additionally, there is a home office corner for those catching up on emails during their stay.
The elegant dining room with garden views is perfect for enjoying evening meals, perhaps with a bottle or two from the villa’s private wine cellar. For more casual dining, the fully-equipped country-style kitchen features a charming breakfast table.
Moreover, the guest house also features its own dining room and a convenient kitchenette.
Up to 14 guests can be accommodated in seven well-appointed bedrooms set across the main villa and the guest house. There are three double bedrooms within the main villa – one of which can be converted to a twin – all with en-suite facilities. The guest house features two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and two twin bedrooms with a shared bathroom, well-suited to families.

Podere Capannelle is in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage-protected Val d’Orcia region of Tuscany. Its countryside surroundings provide peace and privacy, though the amenities and conveniences of the local villages and towns are just a short drive away.
The nearest village of Contignano offers small selection of stores, whilst a larger selection of stores and a collection of restaurants can be found in nearby Chianciano.
Moreover, many of Tuscany’s historic towns and hamlets are within 30 minutes’ drive of the villa, including Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, and Radicofani to name but a few.
