Located steps from the beach on the island of Praslin in the Seychelles, La Cigale Estate is a private villa offering a truly luxurious experience for up to 18 guests. Sitting on 4.5 acres of land with a coconut grove across the bottom of the garden to provide privacy, it is a true paradise.
Guests can enjoy direct access to a white sand beach with crystal-clear, turquoise waters perfect for snorkelling, paddle boarding, kayaking, body boarding and surfing.
Within the grounds, guests can enjoy a floodlit tennis court, a petanque pitch, a large swimming pool, and a shallow children’s pool.
Across the terraces and throughout the beautifully-landscaped gardens are plenty of spaces to relax and unwind. Guests can soak up the sun from a poolside lounger, enjoy a nap in a tree-slung hammock, or cuddle up around the fire pit on cooler evenings.
Collonaded terraces stretch all around the colonial-style buildings, providing more spaces to sit and enjoy the panoramic views over the estate’s tropical gardens and coconut grove to the tree-covered mountains behind.
The refined yet relaxed interiors feature high ceilings, handcrafted furniture, and carefully-selected artworks showcasing local talent. A spacious and airy living room provides the perfect place for relaxing, socialising, and enjoying meals of seasonal Seychellois and international cuisine.
Keeping guests of all ages entertained is a large cinema room, shuffleboard and table tennis sets, a basement cocktail bar with a pool table, and an elegant dine-in wine cellar with expertly-selected wines.
Moreover, the villa boasts a state-of-art gym with Technogym equipment, plus there are unlimited yoga, Pilates and meditation classes as well as children’s educational activities available.
The main villa features five en-suite bedrooms with terrace access, including the master suite with a private living room. Separate guest houses contain four garden pool suites, each with living areas, indoor/outdoor bathrooms, and private terraces with plunge pools for the ultimate indulgence.
Not only is the villa luxurious, but it is also eco-friendly and sustainably driven. The property operates mainly on solar energy and collects rainwater for laundry and irrigation purposes, most of the furniture is handmade with sustainably harvested or repurposed wood, much of the kitchen produce is home-grown or locally sourced, and the toiletries and spa products are locally-made using organic ingredients.

About the area
La Cigale Estate is on Praslin Island, the second-largest island in the Seychelles archipelago. The villa offers direct access to the beautiful white-sand Cote d’Or Beach – the island’s longest beach.
Other beaches not to be missed include Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette, with their bright white sand and turquoise waters.
The crystal-clear waters are perfect for water sports like swimming, surfing, windsurfing, sailing, and kayaking. Underwater, snorkelers and divers will spot a stunning array of marine wildlife such as parrotfish, angelfish, starfish, octopuses, stingrays, grey reef sharks, and endangered hawksbill sea turtles to name but a few.
Just a short drive from the villa is the beautiful Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve – a UNESCO World Heritage site with a palm forest relatively unchanged since prehistoric times. The country’s unique Coco de Mer palm fruit grows here, and the forest is home to a variety of wildlife such as black parrots, sunbirds, bronze geckos and tiger chameleons.
The neighbouring islands of La Digue and Curieuse are both must-see destinations. Laid-back La Digue is largely car-free and is best known for the world-famous Anse Source d’Argent beach with its white sands and ancient granite boulder formations. Inland, visitors can explore the Veuve Nature Reserve, which is home to the critically-endangered black paradise flycatcher bird.
Curieuse also boasts giant granite rock formations along its beaches, unspoiled mangrove forests inland, and a protected giant tortoise population.
