Originally built at the end of the 15th century, the stunning Villa La Foce is unequivocally Tuscan. It is situated amidst glorious rolling countryside, just a few minutes from the spa town Chianciano Terme and near to the charming wine villages of Montalcino and Montepulciano.
The classic Tuscan gardens are a real draw of the property. Box hedges and lemon trees divide the gardens into geometric “rooms”. A grand travertine staircase leads to the rose garden and a winding, wisteria-covered pergola, bordered by lavender hedges. Gentle terraces climb up the hillside where cherry, pine, and cypress trees grow amongst wild thyme and rosemary bushes.
After a stroll through the garden with a glass of Brunello, guests can cool down with a dip in the inviting swimming pool, or relax in the al fresco living areas.
Set over three levels, the interiors are packed with old-world charm, including beautiful heirloom furniture, paintings and seemingly endless amounts of books. All rooms boast have stunning views over the garden and valley, offering the perfect places to relax and take in the surroundings.
Guests can enjoy cosy evenings in the library with its comfortable sofas and crackling fireplace, entertain family and friends in the music room with its grand piano, fireplace, and plentiful seating, or catch up on some work in the study. There is a grand dining room with a frescoed ceiling and a spacious balcony, which is perfect for formal affairs, whilst the second dining room and the breakfast room are perfect for more casual meals.
Each of the 12 comfortable bedrooms – nine doubles and three twins – boasts beautiful views and en-suite bathrooms, creating a relaxing haven for guests to retreat to at the end of the day.
With its expansive gardens and opulent interiors, Villa La Foce is the perfect property for a luxurious countryside escape with loved ones.
NB: On Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays, Sundays & some national holidays, parts of the villa’s gardens are open to the public for guided tours. The garden by the house and the pool area remains private.

About the area
Villa La Foce is located in the Val D’Orcia, an area where the rolling hills are decorated with endless rows of cypress trees, olive groves, and vineyards. The region is known for its majestic castles, thermal spa towns, and tiny medieval villages.
The village of Montalcino, home to the famous Brunello di Montalcino, stands atop a hill covered almost entirely by vineyards and at its centre are signature examples of medieval architecture: the Palazzo dei Priori and the wonderful Rocca fortress, built in about the fourteenth century.
Pienza, not far from the estate, has been declared “Heritage of Mankind” by UNESCO and is considered to be symbolic of the Italian Renaissance (as well as famous for its wonderful pecorino cheese).
In the same area, Montepulciano is another charming village, known as the pearl of the sixteenth century and renowned for the production of wines such as Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
A few minutes from the Villa lies Chianciano Terme, a famous thermal spa town that dates back to Roman times.
