Nestled in the hills of St Maxime on the Côte d’Azur, Villa Les Cistes offers stunning French luxury in a tranquil setting, just a short boat ride from bustling St Tropez.
With a terracotta roof and vibrant blue shutters, the villa contrasts beautifully with the lush green surrounding landscape and the deep blue of the Gulf of St Tropez.
Three levels of expansive terraces with enviable sea views offer various outdoor dining and relaxation options. There is a partly covered first-floor terrace, a ground-floor terrace running the length of the villa and lined by the supporting colonnade, and a lower-ground-floor area with three distinct spaces offering shade or sun and a direct path to the thick green grass of the top garden level. From there, guests can wander down the steps to further terraced garden levels, perfect for spending a little time in nature.
Guests can also spend a day in or beside the heated pool. The open-air pool house has plenty of space to lounge and dine, and with a fully functioning outdoor kitchen, there is no need to head inside to enjoy beautiful meals.
Inside, classic Côte d’Azur luxury continues, with a light colour palette, cooling cream marble tiles underfoot, and expansive views from glass doors leading onto the terraces. The villa has the undeniable air of relaxed Mediterranean life. Guests can relax in the main living room, enjoy meals with a stunning view in the dining room, or stay entertained in the games room and cinema room.
Ideal for special occasions or business trips, the intimate cinema room and grand drawing room can be combined as an event space or conference room for up to 60 guests.
There are nine bedrooms to choose from, many with views over the sea. Two bedrooms on the second floor share a bathroom perfect for families, whilst all others are en-suite. The ground floor king-size bedroom has its own pocket of seclusion with a private terrace for guests to enjoy some additional peace, and upstairs on the first floor, the main master bedroom also boasts a private terrace that stretches across a large section of the front of the villa for one of the best sea views in the building.

NB: Villa Les Cistes is located in St Maxime, around 15 minutes’ by boat from St Tropez. House guardians live in thr property grounds in a private cottage.

About the area
Villa Les Cistes is located in the picturesque commune of St Maxime on the French Riviera. Much more relaxed than vibrant St Tropez, which is just a short boat ride across the bay, St Maxime offers a delightful blend of Provençal charm and coastal allure. It features seafront restaurants, a bay lined with colourful fishing boats, and a tree-lined promenade leading down to the water where locals and guests alike can enjoy a game of boules.
Further along the coast are plenty of excellent beaches to explore, including Plage de le Natelle, a long stretch of beach perfect for a day by the water.
Sainte-Maxime also offers plenty of opportunities for water sports and exploring nature and is a more family-friendly location than its more famous neighbour.
