Atop a hillside overlooking the Tiber Valley lies the stunning Villa Castiglione Ugolino. The luxury residence is part of the exclusive Murlo Estate and offers panoramic views over rolling hills, green fields, olive groves and sprawling vineyards.
In this renovated ancient castle and adjoining church dating back to the 11th century, guests will be immersed in history, whilst enjoying all the amenities of a modern villa. Ideal for larger groups, the main villa sleeps up to 12 guests and an annex within the grounds sleeps an additional eight.
Guests can take in the spectacular views from the heated infinity swimming pool before relaxing in the sunshine on the surrounding sun loungers. Throughout the grounds are several outdoor lounge and seating areas, as well as an al fresco dining table overlooking the surrounding valleys.
Inside the villa the vaulted ceilings, reclaimed terracotta floors, travertine marble staircases, and 13th century frescoes add to the property’s opulence, blending traditional design with modern comforts.
There are several spacious and cosy lounge areas, ideal for relaxing and socialising around a crackling fireplace or enjoying a relaxed family film night. Adjoining one lounge space is the dining area, leading straight through to a modern, country-style kitchen, making the hosting of dinner parties a breeze.
Within the main villa are six of the well-appointed king-size bedrooms, all featuring stunning en-suite bathrooms with marble features.
The property also offers a separate four-bedroom annex, with its own well-equipped kitchen and living area, ideal for those looking for a little more privacy, or perhaps travelling with staff members.
The estate boasts its own restaurant specialising in local cuisine, just a few minutes’ drive from the villa, and guests are granted discounted rates at nearby Antognolla Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. For complete luxury, guests can also enjoy wellness therapies in the comfort of their villa.

NB: From the estate entrance is a stretch of white gravel road to reach the villa. Whilst the road is in good condition, it is not suitable for low-height cars.
